I am directed to say that the Chancellor on the recommendation of the Bihar Inter University Board and the State Government has been pleased to approve the following statute under section 5(2) of the Bihar Inter University Board Act, 1981 for implementation in your University.

‘Notwithstanding anything to the contrary as contained in the Patna University Act, 1976 or the Bihar State University Act, 1976 and the Statutes made thereunder, it is hereby provided as follows:-

1. That, the following shall be the scale of pay for the posts of Principals of Colleges managed and maintained by the University:-

(i) Rs. 1200-50-1300-60-1900; and

(ii) Rs. 1500-60-1800-100-2000-125-2500

Plus an allowance of Rs. 150/-p.m. and rent free house or 10% of salary in lieu thereof in either scale.

2. A Principal of college, who has been duly appointed as such in accordance with the provisions of the University Act and the Statutes inforce at the time of such appointment, may on completion of ten years of continuous service as Principal on or after the 1st January, 1973 may, with effect from the date following the completion of ten years of continuous service as Principal, be placed in the higher scale subject to the condition that no arrear, if any, on account of fixation of his pay in the said higher scale, prior to 1st April, 1986 shall be admissible.

3. The above provisions will be applicable to the colleges affiliated to the University mutatis mutandis.

Futher action in the matter may be taken accordingly.
