Sub:- Regarding approval of amendent in Admission Ordinance for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Course of Nalanda Open University, Patna.
I am directed to invite a reference to the University’s letter no. NOU/RE/742, dated 10.09.2015 on the subject noted above and to inform that the Hon’ble Chancellor, after due consideration of the proposal of the University, advise of the Advisory Committee and in exercise of the powers vested in him under Section 31(2) and 32 (2)(ii) of the Nalanda Open University Act. 1995 (as amended up-to-date) has been pleased to approve the amendment in Admission Ordinance for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Course of Nalanda Open University, Patna in the following manner:-

Clause 1 – To be admitted to the course for obtaining the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Nalanda Open University, a candidate must have passed the Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce or any other equivalent examination recognized Indian University or any other examination recognized by Nalanda Open University as equivalent

Clause: 1 of the existing Ordinance to be substituted with new clause as below:- “(a) Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with |

thereto, with atleast 55% of aggregate marks at the degree examination. There shall be relaxation of five percent marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC and other reserve categoty of candidates.” |
specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible; for admission to the programme. Or (b) The following categories are eligible to be the students of B.Ed.(ODL). (i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education. (ii) Candidates who have, completed an NCTE recognized teacher education programme/though face-to-face mode. (iii) The reservation and relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy layer) as per the rules of the State Government shall be applicable.” |
