Notwithstanding anything to the contrary as contained in the Statutes of the University it is hereby provided that :—

(a) There shall be the following Faculties in the University in place of the Faculty of Arts—

(i)        Faculty of Humanities, &

(ii)       Faculty of Social Sciences

(b) The total number of members of these faculties shall not exceed the figures as given below :—

(c) All language subjects and philosophy shall be assigned to the Faculty of Humanities and the remaining subjects of the erstwhile Faculty of Arts shall be assigned to the Faculty of Social Sciences.

(d) The degrees in the subjects assigned to the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences shall be awarded in the Faculty of Arts.
