Sub : Statutes relating to mode of appointment, pay scales and qualifications
for the posts of teachers of the Universities of the State-Amendment thereto.
In continuation to this Secretariat letter No. B.S. U.-14/77-5561/G.S.(1) dated

22.7.77 on the above subject, I am directed to say that Chancellor has been pleased to approve the following amendment to the statutes on 8.5.79 under Section 5(2) of the Bihar tnter-University Board Ordinance, 1979 and same be added after clause (b) (2) of the statutes in respect of Professor/Reader :

�Provided that the requirement of a first or high second class Master's Degree for appointment to the post of Reader/Professor may be relaxed to bare second class in the case of a teacher who, apart from obtaining his Ph.D. Degree, has successfully guided research work leading to the award of Doctorate or has published considerable research work in standard journals beyond what he did for the Doctorate Degree, and has put in at least eight years of teaching experience in the post Graduate Classes or ten years of teaching expenence in the Bachelor of Honours and Post Graudate Classes taken together or fifteen years of teaching experience in degree classes.�

Necessary action may please be taken accordingly.
