(FOR ALL HOSTELS)

(According to Patna University Act, 1961)

1. In each hostel maintained by the University, three shall be a Superintendent who shall ordinarily be a teacher of the University of not less than five years' teaching or administrative experience.

2. In each hostel where more than sixty students reside there may be one or more assistant superintendents as decided by the Syndicate. The Assistant Superintendent shall be a teacher of the University.

3. There shall be one Warden for a hostel or group of hostels maintained by the University accommodating over 200 boarders. The warden shall be a teacher of the University of not less than ten years' teaching or administrative experience.

4. The terms of office shall be four years in the case of Wardens and three years in the case of the Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents. The Wardens, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents may be reappointed for not more than one term.

5. The Wardens, the Superintendents and the Assistant Superintendents shall be required to stay in the residences provided for them which shall be rent-free or shall stay in residences in the proximity of the hostels for which they shall get 10 per cent house allowance.

6. The Superintendents and the Assistant Superintendents may receive such allowances as may be prescribed in the Ordinances.

7.The Wardens and the Superintendents shall perform duties laid down in the Ordinances.

8. These rules may be relaxed by the Vice-Chancellor in the case of Women's Hostels.

9.The Syndicate may from time to time lay down procedure and qualifications for the selection of Wardens, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.
